Windows says the installer is from a verified publisher. Is that expected?
Yes. URL Verifier Pro is distributed as a digitally signed Windows MSI installer. The verified publisher prompt confirms Windows can validate the installer signature.

Windows SmartScreen warns me before installing. Is the app unsafe?
New applications can trigger SmartScreen while they build reputation. Always download URL Verifier Pro from the official website and confirm the publisher before installing.

Why does the installer ask for administrator permission?
URL Verifier Pro installs into Program Files for all users, so Windows Installer may request administrator approval.

How do I uninstall URL Verifier Pro?
Open Windows Settings, then Apps, then Installed Apps. Select URL Verifier Pro and choose Uninstall. You can also rerun the installer and choose Remove.

My licence key isn't accepted.
Check you have copied the full licence key without extra spaces. If the problem continues, contact support@urlverifier.com.

The app can't contact the licence server.
Check your internet connection, firewall, VPN or DNS filtering. Licence activation and update checks do not use your configured scan proxies.

Why does the app close during an update?
After verifying the downloaded installer, URL Verifier Pro launches Windows Installer and exits so the update can complete safely.

How can I add URLs?
Paste URLs directly, import TXT or CSV files, or discover URLs automatically from a root domain, website URL or XML sitemap.
Does URL Verifier Pro support sitemap indexes?
Yes. It supports XML sitemaps, sitemap indexes and nested sitemap structures.
Does it check robots.txt?
Yes. During sitemap discovery it checks robots.txt for sitemap declarations before falling back to common sitemap locations.
Why did sitemap discovery stop?
Discovery may have reached your configured URL or depth limit, encountered invalid sitemap data or been blocked by the server.
Why is a URL marked Failed?
A Failed status means the request could not be completed. Common causes include DNS problems, timeouts, proxy failures, TLS errors, redirect loops or the destination server rejecting the request.
Why is a URL marked Not Allowed?
If robots.txt checking is enabled, URL Verifier Pro checks the site’s robots.txt rules before requesting each URL. URLs disallowed by robots.txt are skipped, shown with the scan status “Not Allowed”, and recorded as “Blocked by robots.txt”. They are not automatically tagged, but you can filter by the Not Allowed scan status.
Why do some websites work in my browser but fail in URL Verifier Pro?
Web browsers execute JavaScript, maintain sessions and solve challenges. URL Verifier Pro performs direct HTTP requests and is not a full browser.
Does URL Verifier Pro execute JavaScript?
No. It performs fast HTTP requests without rendering pages or executing JavaScript.
Does URL Verifier Pro follow redirects?
Yes. It follows redirects up to your configured limit and reports the redirect chain, redirect count and final destination URL.
Can I export and save my results?
Yes. Export clean CSV reports using the rows and columns you choose, and save session files that preserve your URL list, scan results, notes, tags and other audit data.
Why is the page title or meta description blank?
The page may not contain the metadata, may not return HTML, or the request may have been blocked. URL Verifier Pro reads only the amount of HTML needed for fast metadata extraction.
Are proxies supported?
Yes. URL Verifier Pro supports multiple HTTP and HTTPS proxy formats, authentication and automatic failover.
Can I scan protected pages?
Yes. The app supports HTTP Basic Authentication and custom Cookie headers where appropriate.
Does URL Verifier Pro upload my URL lists?
No. URL lists, sessions, notes and scan results remain on your computer. Only the requests needed to perform scans are sent to the websites you choose to check.
Are logs enabled by default?
No. Scan logging is optional and disabled by default.
What should I include when contacting support?
Email support@urlverifier.com and include your URL Verifier Pro version, Windows version, what you were trying to do, the exact error message, whether the problem affects one URL or every scan, and whether proxies, cookies or authentication are enabled. Please do not send your licence key unless requested by support.
